Also known as “Лётчик” (russian for jet-pilot)
My professional background is in sound engineering, FOH and PA engineering, recording, mixing and music production. I have experience working with independent bands and artists, as well as live shows, festivals and other productions.
My studio work is focused primarily on heavy and alternative music — metal, sludge, post-metal, hardcore, stoner, grunge and related genres — while remaining open to working with a wide range of musical styles. My experience covers recording, editing, mixing and production, including helping bands shape and develop their sound from the early stages of a project through to the final result.
My approach to mixing depends on the requirements and budget of each project. I have experience working both in fully equipped studio control rooms with dedicated monitoring and hybrid setups combining analogue outboard and digital plugins, and in fully digital editing and mixing environments when a faster and more cost-effective workflow makes more sense — for example, for demos and pre-production.
I started experimenting with music recording in 2008, working on demos for bands across various heavy and alternative genres as well as other styles at the HPJ rehearsal studio. I began working professionally as a sound engineer in the early 2010s.
Early in my professional career, I worked as part of Oleg Vasilyev’s team at Trio Production, where I was involved in TV and film post-production, editing and mixing, sound design and music editing. In 2012 I worked as a sound engineer in advertising at EXPO Video Service, one of the main contractors for X5 Retail.
In 2013, together with Igor Bats, I co-founded PentagramHouse, a DIY recording studio focused on independent music.
From 2016 until leaving Russia in 2022, I was working at DTH, a Moscow-based recording studio. At the time, it was one of the most technically well-equipped environments I had the opportunity to work in, and this period became an important part of my professional development and probably the most intensive stage of my studio work. At DTH, I worked on music recording, editing and mixing, with extensive use of professional analogue equipment, acoustic monitoring and various hybrid approaches to production.
Alongside my work as an engineer, I have also been involved in several musical projects as a studio and live guitarist: Дайте Два (2008–2010), Anti-Bacterial (2010–2012), LWFDIHH (2013–2015) and Kraater. This experience has given me a deeper understanding of the recording process and allows me to actively contribute to the development and shaping of guitar tones, rather than focusing solely on the technical side of a production.
In parallel with studio work, I spent many years working in live sound as a FOH engineer, PA engineer, technical director and stage technician for concerts, festivals, presentations, corporate events and other productions. In 2019 I became the technical director of Forma Festival.
I’m currently based in Berlin, where I continue to pursue sound engineering, recording, mixing, music production and live sound on a voluntary basis.
I have a secondary musical education in violin and four years of engineering studies.
If you’re looking to record, mix or produce a project, or need technical support for a live production, feel free to get in touch by email or social media. I’d be happy to discuss your project, possible approaches and available dates.
